17/100 Maybe this is why parents, teachers and caregivers are so tired?
when you are a parent or teacher working with kids who are developing or struggling with their EF skills, you are “lending them your frontal lobe.” When I read this it really struck me. No wonder so many parents, teachers and caregivers are so tired. You are relying on your brain to not only do the Executive Function work for you but for many other people as well. When it comes to the “invisible workload of mothers” I wonder if this is another way of seeing that idea. As a mom I often feel like I am the Executive Function for a whole family of people and that can be really tiring, lending to that feeling of the never ending workload. If you are the caregiver of an older parent or the teacher of lots of kids, or many of these things at once your brain is constantly processing for someone else. That is a lot and I wonder how much that effects someone’s portrait?
